Claire Akers, right, our Roseland House Manager won the Most Highly Commended Manager award at the 2023 National Children and Young People awards on Saturday night .

 Lauren Walczak, our  Responsible individual, left, was also nominated by staff for  the Senior Manager award. Benecare also had other nominees present at the event. Claire only two weeks ago received an OUTSTANDING judgement from Ofsted in the Leadership and Management Category!

Darren Needham, our Ocean Lodge Manager received his SECOND nomination this year for Manager of the Year!

Darren started working at Benecare in 2018 as a Residential Support Worker and, through dedication and hard work, ‘rose through the ranks’; becoming the registered manager of Ocean Lodge in December 2021.

During 2023 our ambition is to…

  • Develop our highly trained staff and take on talented new starters as needed– Recruiting now.
  • Increase our overall bed space provision by two more beds, bringing our service provision to 18.
  • Establish a closer partnership with a local authority in order to provide a much-needed bespoke service for LOCAL children.
